China-Europe Shipping Delays

The global freight industry publication, “The Loadstar“, announced further shipping delays on the China-Europe rail freight, due to some of the following factors:

• Congestion at long-term bottleneck Malaszewicze (Mala), in Poland.
• New Covid cases at Khorgos (temporary closure of airports and train stations).
• Tightened quarantine process implemented in Alashankou (slower train crossings).
• Rail freight’s booming popularity, due to heavily disrupted air and ocean services.

To give a better perspective, it takes roughly 10-16 days more for shipments to cross the border at Khargos and Alashankou, compared to the pre-Covid journey times. Keep in mind, this only includes time to cross the borders (not the entire freight journey). This situation causes additional shipping delays for manufacturers in China shipping to Europe. As this also affects faytech, we are working alternative shipping methods to reduce the delivery times, but some shipping delays are inevitable. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused this way, and thank you for your understanding.
